Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Meeting on 1st Apr 1974.

ANNUAL PARISH MEETING HELD IN LONGWICK VILLAGE HALL ON MONDAY, 1ST APRIL, 1974 AT 8.00 P.M.

Present:- Cllr J. Walker (Chairman) Cllrs. D. Brock, L. E. Metcalfe, B. Thomas, W. Underwood. 11 members of the public. Absent:- Cllr T. G. T. Taylor & Miss J. Couper

Minutes The Minutes of the previous meeting were read & confirmed.

Address by Councillor G. Spear. The Chairman introduced Councillor G. Spear who was one of the Wycombe District Council members representing Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish. Councillor Spear spoke about the problems facing the new District Council with particular reference to rates & finance.

Waste: Following this talk there was a brief discussion during which the subject of waste was raised. It was pointed out that there were various societies prepared to assist in collecting waste such as plastic, aluminium & paper.

Royco Estate: Mr Conran raised the question of landscaping the open spaces on this estate. The Clerk was instructed to pursue this matter with the developer. Also the repositioning of the electricity pole at the entrance to the estate

Bus Service: The Clerk was requested to approach the Alder Valley Bus Company to see if it was feasible to improve the bus service to & from the village.

School Playing Field: The question of preventing the children crossing to the village playing field across school property was raised. It was felt that access of some kind should be made available across the school playing field. It was agreed the Clerk should look into this matter with the Education Authorities.
