Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Meeting on 31st Mar 1969.
ANNUAL PARISH MEETING HELD IN LONGWICK VILLAGE HALL ON MONDAY 31ST MARCH 1969 at 7.30 P.M.
Present. Cllrs Brock, Tapping, Walker, Gomme, & Angus. Absent. Apologies Cllrs Thomas & Leuw. Minutes. Minutes of previous meeting read & confirmed.
Playing Field Chairman reported a good response for raising money various ventures had raised £600. Planning permission had been applied for.
Proposed Electricity Sub. Station at Longwick. The meeting was informed of the possibility of an electricity Sub. Station, and of the inquiry held at Mop End Amersham to which Mr Rupert Lawrence wrote a letter of appeal on behalf of the parish council. The result of the inquiry was not yet known.
Airport at Wing Cllr Walker attended the Bucks County Council meeting at Aylesbury on this project. He reported that the County Councils of Bucks, Beds, and Essex completely opposed to the airport site. Foulness was thought the place to have the airport but would be considerably more expensive. Cllr Walker added that Wing was definitely the favourite site, and would be a government decision.
