Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 3rd Feb 1964.
LONGWICK. CUM-ILMER PARISH COUNCIL Meeting held at Longwick Village Hall Monday 3rd Feb 64 at 7.30 p.m.
Present Cllr Harper, Leuw. Gomme, Tapping. Mrs Brock & Miss Wootton. Absent. A letter of apology for absence from Cllr Walker. Mins Minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.
Permission for road across Ilmer Green. It was proposed Cllr Leuw seconded Cllr Tapping that permission be given to Mr George Harper to have a roadway across Ilmer Green for access to garage. Carried.
Main Drainage A letter was read stating it was intended for Longwick also Meadle to have main drainage but not at present as pumping stations will be required. Cllr Harper informed the meeting that cesspools over 3000 gals could be emptied four times a year. under that amount every ten weeks.
Speed Limit It was stated that it had appeared in the press that the 40 m.p.h speed limit had been approved but signs had not yet been erected.
Maggot Factory The meeting was also informed that there would be no maggot factory at Bledlow.
Precept. Proposed Cllr Brock seconded Cllr Leuw, that the council apply for £25 precept, also request information on 1d rate.
Meadle Pond The trees around Meadle pond have now been removed.
Footpaths. Cllr Gomme informed the meeting that once again footpath No 3 had been ploughed up, the clerk
was told to write to Mr Nobbs and inform him of the situation.
Ilmer Village Negotiations were to commence to improve the blind corners at Ilmer, meanwhile the clerk was asked to inform Mr Nobbs on the muddy state of the road from the bridge to the nursery entrance. It was also agreed that the police should be informed about a lorry parked at Ilmer although a red lamp hung on it was still dangerous.
Playing Fields A letter asking for information on playing fields in the Parish was read by the clerk. No village in the parish had a playing field.
School Managers Proposed Cllr Wootton seconded Cllr Brock that Cllr Harper and Cllr Leuw should be appointed school managers. Carried
