Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 27th May 1963.
LONGWICK. CUM. ILMER PARISH COUNCIL Meeting held Village Hall Longwick Monday 27th May 63 at 7.30 P.M.
Present. Cllr Harper, Leuw, Gomme, Tapping Mrs Brock Miss Wootton.
Mins Minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed
Election of Officers Cllr Gomme proposed seconded by Cllr Wootton that Cllr Harper remain as Chairman. Cllr Leuw proposed seconded by Cllr Tapping that Cllr Brock should be Vice Chairman Carried
Signing of Declaration of Office Signing of Declaration of office book was signed by Cllrs present.
Post Office The clerk read a letter from the Post Master saying that the filling of the vacant sub-Postmastership is under consideration. and that arrangements to move the letter box at the end of the village were going ahead.
Meadle Pond A letter from the county surveyor that the trees round Meadle pond were now satisfactory but reminded the council that growth was rapid on these trees and hoped they would be kept cut each year.
Road Sign in Icknield Way. A complaint from Mr Hannon of "Farnavale" Icknield Way that the large direction sign was right in line with his window and would like it moved slightly as it was rather an eye-sore. The clerk was asked to write to Mr Knobbs about it.
Donation to School Managers A suggestion by the chairman that the council donate to the school managers was left open until the next meeting.
Parish Election An information letter that £5 . 15 . 10d had been charged to the councils parochial account was read by the clerk, in respect of the recent election of parish Councillors
Finance It was agreed that the annual subscription of £2 . 8 . 0 . be paid to the Buckinghamshire Assc of Parish Councils
