Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 1st Apr 1963.
LONGWICK. CUM-ILMER PARISH COUNCIL Meeting held school room Longwick Monday 1st April 63 7.30pm.
Present. Cllr Harper, Walker, Leuw, Gomme, Tapping, Mrs Brock, Miss Wootton.
Mins. Minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.
Meadle Pond. The chairman Cllr Harper informed the meeting that the trees round Meadle pond had been cut back, there-fore no longer obstructing the view of the bend in the road.
Ilmer Church Sign A further letter of refusal to erect a sign for Ilmer church was read by the clerk. The chairman suggested a sign be put up on Mr David Claydons land if he was agreeable.
Election of Parish Councillors All Cllrs were willing to seek re-election. The clerk was expecting the nomination papers to arrive any day and would issue them out to who-ever wanted one.
Hiring the School Room for Council Meetings. A letter was received from Mr Wood re the hiring of the school and the subject of wages for the care taker, which would cost (if hired for one hour) 13/-. After a lot of consideration it was proposed by Cllr Walker, seconded Mrs Brock that as it would be cheaper the meeting should be held in the Village Hall, carried.
Dinner and Cabaret A letter re a dinner and cabaret from the County of Buckingham Assc of Parish Councils was read by the Chairman.
Finance Clerks Salary Feb. March £2 - - Postage 2/- together with £1 - 7 . 7 for printing of letter headings by Cheverton & Laidler Ltd. also £2 - - to Messrs W & J Harper for lopping trees and clearing of same round Meadle Pond.
