Longwick-cum Ilmer Parish Council Meeting held 7.30 pm Monday 16th Oct 1961 School room Longwick
Present Chairman C Harper, Cllrs Brock Tappin Gomme
Mins Minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed
Mill Close The ditch fronting on the bungalows Mill Close in Longwick was discussed and it was decided that the clerk should seek permission from WRDC that this ditch be piped and filled in.
Vice Chairman It was proposed by Cllr Gomme and seconded by Cllr Tappin that Cllr Mrs Brock be appointed Vice Chairman Carried
Cllr Claridge The question of Cllr Claridge continuing to serve on the Council was discussed and it was decided to leave this matter in abeyance
Vacancy The question of a replacement to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr D Claydon was discussed. It was decided to invite Mrs Wootton of Longwick to attend,
Meadle Pond The chairman read a letter from Mrs Hamilton-Jenkins of Meadle which he had received with a petition proposing that Mrs Jenkins be given permission by the Council to maintain and keep clean the parish pond at Meadle. The council decided that Mrs Jenkins be given such permission, and the clerk was instructed to draw up an agreement for Mrs Hamilton-Jenkins to sign, making it clear that the council reserved the right to withdraw this permission as and when they may see fit. The proviso was added that the pond must not be enclosed, and the strand of wire now in place must be removed. all this at Mrs Jenkins expense W J Harper 22/1/62
