Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 11th Jan 1951.

Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom Longwick. on Thursday January 11th 1951 at 7 p.m. To read and confirm the minutes of the last meeting. Correspondence received. Report on revision of Parish boundaries Appointment of Trustee for Princes Risborough Charities. Whist Drive in aid of King George's Fund for Sailors Payment of Accounts. Any other business. Present Councillors W J Harper Chairman, A Ancliffe. D Claydon A. J. Goodchild Mrs D. Walker E. L. C. Galloway Clerk.

Minutes The minutes of the last meeting were read & carried. Arising from the minutes the matter of the revision of Parish boundaries & the Whist Drive in aid of King George's Fund for Sailors were down on the agenda for fuller discussion later.

Correspondence received 1) Parish Archives The Clerk read a letter from the Bucks C.C. regarding the collection of Parish Archives. After some discussion it was decided to show letter to Mrs Attenborough in case she should be interested.

2) National Survey of Rights of Way. The Clerk read a letter from the Hon. Secretary of the Bucks Association of Parish Councils asking what had been done by our Council, and offering any assistance. It was proposed Mrs Walker and seconded by Councillor A Ancliffe that the Clerk write stating what has been done and explaining our difficulties.

Parish Boundary Report The Chairman gave a report of the meeting at Wycombe on December 9th. In spite of a lengthy meeting little or no progress was made except that it was agreed that two representatives

from Longwick, Princes Risborough & Bledlow should meet Mr Chapman for further discussion. It was proposed Councillor Goodchild and seconded Councillor Mrs Walker that the Chairman & Councillor Ancliffe should represent Longwick.

Appointment of Trustee for Princes Risborough Charities. The Clerk read a letter from the Clerk to the Princes Risborough Charities asking the Parish Council to appoint a trustee to the Charities, the term of office of Mr Walker having expired. It was proposed Councillor Goodchild and seconded Councillor Claydon that Mr Walker be re-appointed. This was carried.

Whist Drive for King George's Fund for Sailors The Chairman announced that he had arranged the Whist Drive for Tuesday January 16th at a cost of 1/6 per ticket. Prizes totalling £1 : 10 to be given. Offers of financial support to cover cost of the hire of the hall, prizes, & refreshments were forthcoming from the Chairman & Councillors Ancliffe, Claydon, Goodchild Mrs Walker & the Clerk.

Payment of Accounts. Councillor Mrs Walker proposed & Councillor Goodchild seconded that the following account be paid to E. L. C. Galloway One quarters Salary to 24.12.50 £2. This was carried.

Any other business Condition of road near Anderdon Farm The Council instructed the Clerk to write the County Surveyor about the dangerous condition of the Longwick-Thame road near the entrance to Anderdons Farm.
