Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 27th Feb 1950.

Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom Longwick on Monday February 27th 1950 at 7 pm. To read & confirm minutes of the last meeting Replies to Correspondence Appointment of Parish Constables. To issue Precept upon the Rating Authority for General Expenses of the Parish Council Correspondence received Payment of Accounts. Other business Present:- Councillors W J Harper (Chairman). A Ancliffe; D. Claydon; E. J. Girling; A. J. Goodchild F. Williams and the Clerk.

Apologies Apology for absence was received from Councillor Mrs D. M. Walker.

Minutes The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

Replies to Corresp. Proposed footpath from School to Parish Hall. Princes Risboro - Thame Road - A. 4129. The Clerk read a letter from the Divisional Surveyor stating that a footpath between the School and the Parish Hall would be put in hand in the near future, and that the condition of the footpath between "Three Pigeons" P.H. and the end of the village is being investigated so that arrangements can be made for the necessary repairs to be carried out.

Street Lighting The Clerk read a letter from the Clerk to the Wycombe R.D.C. stating that the matter of Street Lighting was being left over for a period of twelve months.

Precept for £10 for General Exes of P.C. It was proposed Councillor Ancliffe and seconded Councillor Claydon that a precept

for Ten Pounds (£10) for General Expenses of the Parish Council be issued upon the Rating Authority to become payable on June 24th 1950.

Appointment of Parish Constables It was proposed Councillor Goodchild and seconded Councillor Girling that the outgoing Parish Constables be re-appointed, namely Messrs O Goodchild, F. Williams, H Goodchild, O. Tapping, E. T. Rutland.

Correspondence received. Survey of Parish Documents The Clerk read a letter from the Clerk of the Peace for Bucks. enquiring for information regarding Parish Documents. The Clerk informed the Council that he had obtained the information required from his predecessor & passed it on to the Clerk of the Peace.

Education in the Catchment Area of Princes Risboro A letter received on December 28th stating that the Princes Risboro Parish Council had resolved to take no further action over the matter of a Committee to study the interest of Education in the Catchment Area of Princes Risboro'

Festival of Britain 1951 A letter from the Ministry of Health sanctioning any reasonable expenses incurred on local arrangements for the Festival of Britain.

Wycombe Rural District Assoc of Parish Councils A letter stating that a General Meeting of the Wycombe R. D. Association of Parish Councils would be held on Wednesday March 15th 1950 at 7 p.m. The Chairman made some remarks on the last meeting of above, and asked for the nomination of two delegates to the meeting on March 15th. It was proposed Councillor Ancliffe and seconded Councillor Williams that the Chairman & the Clerk should attend.

Payment of Accounts Proposed Councillor Williams and seconded Councillor Girling that the following accounts be passed for payment:- Hadden, Best & Co. Ltd £1 : 10 : 9. Shaw & Sons Ltd 10s. 6d. Cheverton & Laidler £2 : 2 : 2. E.L.C. Galloway. Quarters Salary as Clerk to 25/12/49.

Other business Letter to the Surveyor The Clerk was instructed to write to the Surveyor regarding the erection of warning reflectors on the bend at the entrance to the village from Thame.

Date of the Annual Parish Meeting. Proposed Councillor Goodchild Seconded Councillor Williams that the Annual Parish Meeting be held on Friday March 24th at 7 p.m.
