Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 31st Mar 1947.

Meeting of the Parish Council of Longwick-cum-Ilmer held in the Schoolroom, Longwick on Monday March 31st 1947. at 8 pm. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. Replies to Correspondence. Alterations of Parish Boundaries. Payment of accounts. Present:- Councillors F. Williams (Chairman) W. J. Harper. H. W. Lewis A. J. Goodchild. D. Claydon E. J. Girling and the Clerk.

Minutes Minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

Land for emptying contents of Cesspools The Surveyor Wycombe R.D Council wrote thanking the Council for their information re land for emptying contents of Cesspools.

Illumination of Telephone Kiosk Longwick A reply was received from the Engineer, Post Office Telephones, stating that the matter of lighting the Telephone Kiosk at Longwick has received attention, and the Electric Supply Co. have been requested to connect the mains supply. At the moment the work is held up owing to the acute shortage of poles, but consideration is being given to supplying the necessary poles by the Telephone Dept. The work will proceed as soon as a favourable decision is reached.

Ilmer Road The Divisional Highways Surveyor replied re Ilmer Road, that he hoped soon to give some attention to the Road.

Additional Telephone Kiosk A letter was read from Mr Maple of Longwick calling the

attention of the Parish Council to the need for a Telephone Kiosk at the junctions of the Aylesbury Road and Longwick Road, by the Sportsmans Garage or alternatively by the Duke of Wellington, Longwick. Proposed by Councillor Harper seconded by Councillor Goodchild, that as there is already a Telephone Kiosk in Longwick, no action be taken. Carried.

Parish Boundaries The Clerk reported that the Princes Risborough Parish Council, had under consideration the question of alteration of Parish Boundaries, and wished to know the views of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council as to the advisability of the alteration of the present boundaries so as to include Horsenden Village in Princes Risborough Parish. Proposed by Councillor Harper seconded by Councillor Claydon that the Princes Risborough Parish Council be notified that the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council are not in favour of any portion of their Parish being transferred to Princes Risborough Parish. Carried.

Payment of accounts Proposed by Councillor Lewis seconded by Councillor Girling, that Cheques be drawn in payment of the following accounts:- Longwick School Correspondent. Hire of Room for Meetings (one year) 10/-d. Robert Bailey. Quarters Salary as Clerk to 25/3/47 £1-5-0 Postages (One year) 10/7d. Total Cheque £1/15/7. Carried. W J Harper 28/4/47.
