Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 24th Jun 1946.

Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom, Longwick on Monday June 24th 1946 at 8 pm. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. To receive Report in connection with formation of Parish Councils Association. Appointment of a Manager to Princes Risborough and Longwick C of E Schools. Payment of accounts. Present:- Councillors F. Williams (Chairman). D. M. Walker. D. Claydon. A. J. Goodchild, H. W. Lewis and the Clerk.

Minutes Minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed.

Parish Councils Association It was reported that at a meeting held on 27th April 1946 at Wycombe R.D. Council Offices it was resolved and carried unanimously:- "That this meeting of representatives of Parish Councils in the Wycombe Rural District, resolve that, pending the formation of a County Parish Councils Association, an Area Committee be formed for Parish Councils in the Wycombe Rural District". It was decided that the Area Committee should consist of nine representatives and the following members were unanimously elected:- Mr G. S. Castle-Beaumont. Mr W. G. Britnell, Miss D. M. Burdett, Mr W. J. Coker. Dr E. Gillett, and Mr C. Rogers. It was decided to leave the question of the appointment of Hon Sec to the Area Committee. It was decided that the first meeting of the Area Committee should take place on Saturday 18th May 1946 at 2.30pm at 17, High Street, High Wycombe. The Area Committee would be glad to know if the Parish Council had any matters they would like the Area Committee to consider.

Manager Princes Risborough & Longwick C of E. Schools. Proposed by Councillor Walker seconded by Councillor Goodchild that Councillor F. Williams be recommended to the Princes Risborough Parish Council for appointment as a Manager to Princes Risborough & Longwick C of E. Schools. Carried.

Payment of accounts Proposed by Councillor Lewis seconded by Councillor Claydon that the following accounts be passed for payment:- Wycombe R.D. Council Fees etc for Uncontested Election of Parish Councillors, £1/10/8. Robert Bailey Quarters Salary as Clerk to 24/6/46 £1/5/-. Carried.

Unsatisfactory Sanitary conditions at Three Pigeons. The Clerk was asked to take up the matter of (the nuisance caused by the contents of Lavatory pails being deposited at the bottom of the garden of the Three Pigeons. Longwick, and remaining uncovered,) with the Occupier of the Three Pigeons. Fred Williams. 30/9/46
