Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 28th Mar 1944.

Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom, Longwick on Tuesday March 28th 1944 at 7.45 pm. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. Replies to Correspondence Consideration of repairs to foot path leading from Longwick to Bledlow. Consideration of repairs needed to foot bridge across ditch at Barnes Field, Longwick. Payment of accounts. To fix date & time for Annual Meeting of Parish Council. Present:- Councillors Wm A. Walker (Chairman) H. S. Pope. H. W Lewis W. J. Harper. F. Williams, A. J. Goodchild, E. J. Girling and the Clerk.

Minutes Minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

Unsatisfactory state of Ilmer Road The Acting Divisional Highways Surveyor, replied with reference to the complaint about the condition of the verges on the Ilmer Road, that he was taking up the matter with the farmer concerned and also the War Agricultural Department with regard to the materials excavated from the ditches. The Council would of course appreciate the difficulty in keeping a road clear of mud etc at this time of year, where cattle are traversing it two or three times a day between the fields and the farm.

Land for Council Houses Mr. A. Goodchild wrote stating it had been brought to his notice that at the last meeting of the Parish Council, land in his possession was recommended as a suitable site for Council Houses. He begged that the Council be informed that there are other suitable sites in the Village and that the land is not for sale at present. The Clerk was asked to reply, stating the contents of his letter had been noted.

United Aid to China Fund The Chairman reported that a Whist Drive held in connection with United Aid to China Fund was fairly

well patronised and a sum of £4/13/- was sent to the Wycombe R. D. Council together with the Flag Day proceeds.

Foot path Longwick to Bledlow. Foot bridge Barnes Field It was agreed that the repairs to foot-path from Longwick to Bledlow and repairs needed to foot bridge across ditch in Barnes Field, Longwick be deferred until September. Proposed by Councillor Lewis seconded by Councillor Pope

Payment of accounts that the following accounts be passed for payment:- Robert Bailey One Quarters Salary as Clerk to 25/3/44 £1/5/- Postages (One year) 4/9d. Total Cheque to Bailey £1/9/9. Correspondent Longwick C of E. School for Use of Room for Meetings of the Council 10/-d. Carried.

Date of Annual Meeting Parish Council It was agreed that the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council be held at the Schoolroom, Longwick, on Tuesday April 25th 1944 at 8 pm. Wm A Walker
