Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 15th Feb 1943.
Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom, Longwick on Monday February 15th 1943 at 7 pm. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. To nominate Parish Constables. To issue a Precept upon the Rating Authority for General Expenses of the Council. Payment of accounts. To fix date, place and time of Annual Parish Meeting to be followed by a meeting of the Parish Council. To consider repairs needed to the Bar Lane Road, Longwick. Present:- Councillors Wm A. Walker (Chairman) W. J. Harper, H. S. Pope, H. W Lewis, A. J. Goodchild and the Clerk.
Apology for absence Apology for absence received from Councillor F. Williams.
Minutes Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.
Mr Owen Tapping to serve as a Trustee to Monks Risborough Charities Arising out of the Minutes of last meeting, the Clerk reported that Mr Chas Tucker was unwilling to serve as a Trustee to the Monks Risborough Charities, and in consequence Mr Owen Tapping had agreed to serve as a Trustee, and his appointment had been duly notified to the Charity Commission.
Nomination of Parish Constables Proposed by Councillor Lewis seconded by Councillor Pope, that the following persons be nominated to serve as Parish Constables:- Messrs Owen Goodchild, Fred Williams. Harry Goodchild, Owen Tapping and Ernest Thomas Rutland. Carried
Precept for £10 Proposed by Councillor Pope seconded by Councillor Goodchild that a Precept for £10 for General Expenses be issued upon the Rating Authority, to become payable on June 30th 1943. Carried
Payment of Accounts Proposed by Councillor Lewis seconded by Councillor Harper that Cheques be drawn in payment of the following accounts:- Robert Bailey. One Quarters Salary as Clerk to 25/12/42 £1/5/- "Logonia" Premium on Clerks Bond 3/-d. Carried.
Date of Annual Parish Meeting It was agreed that the Annual Parish Meeting be held at the Schoolroom, Longwick, on Monday March 22nd 1943 at 7.30. pm to be followed by a meeting of the Parish Council.
Repairs to Bar Lane Road Longwick Consideration was given to repairs needed to the Bar Lane Road, Longwick, and the Chairman agreed to take up the matter with the authorities concerned. H S Pope 22/3/1943.
