Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 24th Feb 1941.

Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom, Longwick, on Monday February 24th 1941 at 7 pm. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. Reply to Correspondence. To appoint a Trustee to Monks Risborough Charities. To nominate Parish Constables. To consider issuing a Precept upon the Rating Authority for General Expenses of the Council. Payment of accounts. To fix date, time and place of the Annual Parish Meeting to be followed by a meeting of the Parish Council. Present:- Councillors Wm A. Walker (Chairman). H. S. Pope. A. J. Goodchild, F. Williams, E. J. Girling H. W. Lewis and the Clerk.

Bomb Crater Bar Lane A letter was received from the Wycombe R.D. Council, relating to the Bomb Crater in the public foot path at Bar Lane, stating the Wycombe R.D. Council would undertake the responsibility of having it filled in. Owing to the difficulty in obtaining labour and materials it would be some time before the work is completed. The Chairman stated an attempt had been made to fill the Bomb Crater in, but weather conditions had been against the work. It was agreed that the matter be brought forward again, when weather conditions were more favourable.

Trustee to Monks Risborough Charities Proposed by Councillor F Williams, seconded by Councillor H. S. Pope that Mr. Edward John Girling

be re-appointed a Trustee to Monks Risborough Charities, his previous term of office having expired. Carried

Parish Constables Proposed by Councillor H. S. Pope seconded by Councillor E. J. Girling that the out going Parish Constables be re-nominated namely:- Messrs Owen Goodchild, Fred Williams, Charles Tucker, Ernest Thomas Rutland, and Harry Goodchild. Carried

Precept for General Exes. £10 Proposed by Councillor Fred Williams, seconded by Councillor Herbert. Wm Lewis, that a Precept for £10 (Ten Pounds) General Expenses of the Council, be issued upon the Rating Authority to become payable on June 30th 1941. Carried

Payment of Accounts Proposed by Councillor Herbert. Wm Lewis, seconded by Councillor Edward. J. Girling, that Cheques be drawn in payment of the following accounts:- Robert Bailey, One Quarters Salary as Clerk to 25/12/40 £1/5/- Logonia Premium on Clerks Bond 3/-d. Carried

Date of Annual Parish Meeting It was agreed that the Annual Parish Meeting be fixed to take place at the Schoolroom, Longwick, on Monday, March 24th 1941 at 6.30 pm to be followed by a meeting of the Parish Council. Wm A Walker
