Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 28th Oct 1940.
Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom, Longwick, on Monday October 28th 1940 at 6.30 pm. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. To consider repairs needed to foot bridge leading across the meadow from Meadle to Kimblewick. Payment of accounts. Present:- Councillors Wm A. Walker (Chairman), Herbert S. Pope, Wm Joseph Harper, Fred Williams, Edward J. Girling, Herbert Wm Lewis and the Clerk.

Repairs to foot bridge leading from Meadle to Kimblewick Councillor Harper reported on the repairs needed to the foot bridge leading across the meadow from Meadle to Kimblewick, and after consideration of the matter, Councillor H. S. Pope proposed and Councillor E. J. Girling seconded that Messrs James Walker & Son, be asked to carry out the necessary repairs. Carried.
Payment of accounts Proposed by Councillor Herbert Wm Lewis seconded by Councillor Fred Williams that Cheques be drawn in payment of the following accounts:- Messrs James Walker and Son Repairs to Foot bridge leading across foot-path from Longwick to Owlswick £2. Mr. Rupert East. Premium on Employers Liability Insurance 10/-d. Commons Preservation Society, Annual Subscription 10/6d. Robert Bailey ½ years Salary as Clerk to 29/9/40 £2/10/- Audit Stamp 1938/9 £1. Total Cheque to Robert Bailey £3/10/-. Carried
Damage to Public Foot-path at Bar Lane It was reported that owing to enemy action, a large shell hole had been made in the public foot-path at Bar Lane, which was dangerous to Pedestrians. Proposed by Councillor H. S. Pope seconded by Councillor F. Williams that the matter be reported to the Wycombe
Rural District Council, to ascertain who were the responsible authority for arranging to have the shell hole filled in. Wm A Walker Carried
