Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 15th Apr 1940.

The Annual Parish Meeting was held in the Schoolroom, Longwick on Monday April 15th 1940 at 7 pm. To appoint a Chairman and Vice-Chairman for the ensuing Year. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. Correspondence. To appoint two representatives to serve on the Rating and Valuation Committee of the Wycombe R.D. Council for the ensuing Year. Present:- Councillors Wm A. Walker, (Chairman). H. S. Pope, A. J. Goodchild, Wm J. Harper, F. Williams and Mr Robert Bailey (Clerk).

Chairman Proposed by Councillor Harper, seconded by Councillor Pope that Councillor Wm A. Walker be re-appointed Chairman for the ensuing Year. Carried

Vice-Chairman Proposed by Councillor Goodchild seconded by Councillor Harper, that Councillor H. S. Pope be re-appointed Vice-Chairman for the ensuing Year. Carried

Minutes Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.

Stile at Meadle The Clerk reported that Mr. W. H Lavington had attended to the Council's request for a new stile to be erected on his property at Meadle. The following correspondence was received from the Divisional Highways Surveyor, relating to matters brought forward at the Annual Parish Meeting.

Flooding. Bar Lane Bar Lane, Longwick. No 611 With reference to flooding which recently occurred adjoining the above road. This flooding was caused by a temporary stoppage of one of the pipes crossing the highway, and I am quite satisfied that the drainage on this road, is adequate to deal with all normal rain fall.

Fence, near Anderdon Farm Fencing near Anderdons Farm With reference to fence at Anderdon Farm, Longwick, I am making arrangements to have this repaired.

Representatives on Rating and Valuation Committee Proposed by Councillor Pope seconded by Councillor Harper that Councillors A. J. Goodchild and Fred Williams be re-appointed as Representatives to serve on the Rating and Valuation Committee of the Wycombe R.D. Council for the ensuing Year. Carried. Wm A Walker
