Foot paths Longwick The County Surveyor wrote with reference to the Council's application for foot paths in Longwick, stating the South-Western Divisional Highways Committee of the County Council consider that neither of these foot paths are urgently required, as there is little development on the sections of roads in question, and there are more pressing cases elsewhere for which, at present, funds are not available. In the circumstances, the Committee decided to recommend that no action be taken in the matter at the present time.
30 miles per hour Speed Limit He also wrote with reference to the Councils application for a 30 m.p.h. speed limit between the Summerleys Road junction with the Chinnor Road, through Longwick to a point near Anderdons Farm, stating that the Highways Committee of the County Council after consultation with the Chief Constable, had decided not to recommend the Council to make an Order imposing such new restrictions.
Filling in of Pond at Ilmer A further communication was received from the County Surveyor, with reference to the filling in of the
pond opposite Ilmer Church, stating that the South-Western Divisional Highways Committee had decided to fill in a portion of the pond, leaving the remainder in form of a large ditch to take the road surface water, with an overflow pipe to the ditch on the opposite side of the road. It was considered inadvisable to fill in the whole of the pond, in view of the fact that it is situated at a low point in the road and the adjoining land is low-lying and subject to flooding. The Divisional Committee recommend that the whole cost of the proposed work be borne by the County Council, and he would be glad to hear that the Parish Council agree with what is proposed to be done. It was agreed that the Clerk communicate with the County Surveyor, stating that the Parish Council agree with what is proposed to be done.
