Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom, Longwick, on Monday February 7th 1938 at 6.30 pm. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. Correspondence. Consideration of conveyance of school children from Meadle, Owlswick & Stockwell Lane, to Monks Risborough C. of E. School. Consideration of letter received from R.D.C. re - Air Raid Precautions. Nomination of Parish Constables. Payment of Accounts. Present:- Councillors Wm A. Walker (Chairman), H. S. Pope, A. J. Goodchild, H. W. Lewis. W. J. Harper, F. Williams, E. J. Girling and Robert Bailey (Clerk).

Access Road Council Houses The Clerk to the Wycombe R.D. Council wrote with reference to the objection raised by his Council to the conditions stipulated by the Bucks County Council in connection with the R.D. Councils Housing Scheme at Longwick, the Minister of Transport had given his decision on the matter, which decision upholds the conditions of the County Council.
Schemes relating to Parochial Charities. Princes Risborough & Monks Risborough A copy of a Scheme sealed by the Charity Commission relating to the appointment of Trustees and the regulating of the Princes Risborough Parochial Charities, was laid before the meeting. The Draft Scheme for the appointment of Trustees and the regulating of the Monks Risborough Poors Allotment and other Charities in the ancient Parish of Monks Risborough was laid before the meeting.
Conveyance of School Children The question of the conveyance of school children from Meadle, Owlswick & Stockwell Lane to Monks Risborough C. of E. School was considered.
Proposed by Councillor Girling seconded by Councillor Harper that the Clerk communicate with the Secretary for Education asking if arrangements for conveyance of the children could be made. Carried
Air Raid Precautions A letter was received from the Wycombe Rural District Council Air Raid Precautions Sub area Committee enclosing particulars relating to Air Raid Precautions and suggesting that the number of Wardens recommended for the Parish was Four i.e. One Chief Warden and three others. After consideration of the letter, it was felt that the Chief Warden should be someone who was able to spare the time to attend to the various duties involved. Proposed by Councillor Pope seconded by Councillor Goodchild that Mr John Nelmes of 5. Lower Icknield Way be approached to ascertain if he would be willing to act as Chief Warden. Carried
Parish Constables Proposed by Councillor Harper seconded by Councillor Pope that the following persons be nominated to act as Parish Constables for the ensuing year:- Owen Goodchild, Fred Williams, Harry Goodchild, Wm Alfred Richardson, Charles Tucker and Ernest Thos Rutland. Carried
Payment of Accounts Proposed by Councillor Williams sec by Councillor Goodchild that Cheques be drawn in payment of the following accounts:- Commissioners of Inland Revenue Sch A. Tax on Parish Cottages 1937/38 15/-d. Commons Preservation Society Annual Subscription 10/6d. Logonia Premium on Clerks Bond 1938 3/-d. Robert Bailey One Quarters Salary as Clerk to 25/12/37. £1/5/-. Repayment of Cash paid for Rates on Parish Cottages half yr ending March 31st 1938. £1/11/4. Total Cheque £2/16/4. Carried Wm A Walker
