Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 19th Apr 1937.
The Annual Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council was held in the Schoolroom, Longwick, on Monday April 19th 1937 at 7 pm. Councillors to sign Declaration of acceptance of office. To appoint a Chairman and Vice-Chairman for the ensuing year. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. Appointment of two Representatives to serve on the Rating and Valuation Committee of the Wycombe R.D. Council for the ensuing year. To appoint a Representative to serve on the Local Higher Education Committee in respect of Princes Risborough and Longwick C. of E. Schools. To act in conjunction with the Princes Risborough Parish Council in the appointment of a Manager to the Princes Risborough and Longwick C. of E. Schools. Payment of account. Consideration of a letter re Air Raid Precautions. Consideration of repairs needed to foot path leading from Longwick to Bledlow, by the residence of Mr J. Redrup. Present:- Councillors Wm A. Walker, H. S. Pope, W. J. Harper, F. Williams, A. J. Goodchild, H. W. Lewis, E. J. Girling, and Mr Robert Bailey (Clerk).
Declarations of acceptance of office Declarations of acceptance of office as Councillors duly signed by the Councillors.
Chairman Proposed by Councillor Goodchild, seconded by Councillor Harper, that Councillor Wm A. Walker be appointed Chairman for the ensuing year. Carried
Vice-Chairman Proposed by Councillor Harper, seconded by Councillor Williams that Councillor H. S. Pope be appointed Vice-Chairman for the ensuing year. Carried

Proposed by Councillor Harper seconded by Councillor Pope
Representatives on Rating and Valuation Committee that Councillors A. J. Goodchild and F. Williams be appointed as representatives to serve on the Rating and Valuation Committee of the Wycombe R.D. Council for the ensuing year. Carried
Representative on Local Higher Education Committee Proposed by Councillor Williams seconded by Councillor Pope that Councillor W. J. Harper be appointed as a representative to serve on the Local Higher Education Committee in respect of Princes Risborough & Longwick C. of E. Schools. Carried
Manager Princes Risboro & Longwick C of E School Proposed by Councillor Pope seconded by Councillor Goodchild, that the nomination by the Princes Risborough Parish Council of Mr Fred Williams as a Manager of the Princes Risborough and Longwick Schools, be accepted, and that Mr Fred Williams be hereby appointed. Carried
Payment of Account Proposed by Councillor Harper seconded by Councillor Girling, that a Cheque be drawn in payment of the following account:- M. B. Parry Jones, Fee etc as Returning Officer Parish Council Election 7/6d. Carried
Personnel Air Raid Precautions A letter was considered re the appointment of Personnel in connection with Air Raid Precautions for the Parish, and the following agreed to serve:- Councillor Walker, as Head Warden. Councillors W. J. Harper, E. J. Girling, F. Williams, H. W. Lewis and A. J. Goodchild as Air Raid and Fire Wardens. Proposed by Councillor Pope seconded by Councillor Lewis, that endeavours be made to secure other persons to act as volunteers for General auxiliary services etc., and that their names be sent in to the Clerk of the Council. Carried
Repairs to foot-path The question of repairs needed to the Public foot path leading from Longwick to Bledlow by the residence of Mr. J. Redrup was considered, and as the foot path was also a right of
way to the residence of Mr J. Redrup adjoining the foot path, it was proposed by Councillor Girling seconded by Councillor Pope that the owner of the residence of Mr J. Redrup be approached to ascertain if she would be prepared to make a contribution towards the cost of putting the foot path in order. Carried Wm A Walker
