Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 9th Aug 1937.
Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom, Longwick on Monday August 9th 1937 at 8 pm. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. Payment of accounts. To issue Precept upon the Rating Authority for General Expenses of the Council. Consideration of a letter re Pond near Chestnut Farm, Longwick. Present:- Councillors Wm A. Walker (Chairman) H. S. Pope. A. J. Goodchild, F. Williams, H. W. Lewis and Mr Robert Bailey (Clerk)
Apology for absence Apology for absence received from Councillor W. J. Harper.
Minutes Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.
Payment of accounts Proposed by Councillor Williams seconded by Councillor Pope that Cheques be drawn in payment of the following accounts:- Rupert East. Premium on Employers Liability Policy 10/-d. Robert Bailey. One Quarters Salary as Clerk to 24th June 1937 £1/5/-. Audit Stamp 1936/7 5/- Repayment of Cash paid for Rates on Parish Cottages half year ending Sept 30th 1937 £1/10/10. Total Cheque £3/10/10. Carried
Precept for General Expenses Proposed by Councillor Pope seconded by Councillor Goodchild that a Precept for £10 (Ten pounds) General Expenses of the Council, be issued upon the Rating Authority payable on December 31st 1937. Carried
Pond opposite Chestnut Farm A communication was received, calling the attention of the Council to the Pond outside Chestnut Farm, having become overgrown with weeds, causing the adjoining land to become flooded, in the wet season. After considering the matter, Councillor Pope proposed and Councillor Williams seconded, that the matter be referred to the Bucks County Surveyor for
attention, and suggesting that as the Pond was not used, that it be filled in, and pipes laid to convey the water away from the adjoining ditches. Carried
Charity Commissioners Order to Establish a Scheme relating to Baptist Chapel. Longwick A notice was received from the Charity Commissioners relating to a proposed Order to establish a Scheme for the regulation of the Charity consisting of the Baptist Chapel at Longwick. The Clerk was asked to communicate with the Charity Commissioners requesting that the Council might be supplied with fuller information of the proposal, than that conveyed in the Notice.
Financial Statement of accounts The Financial Statement of Accounts as certified by the District Auditor, were laid before the meeting, for the year ending March 31st 1937. Sept 6th 1937 Wm A Walker
