Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 14th Dec 1936.

Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom, Longwick, on Monday, December 14th 1936 at 7 pm. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. Correspondence. Payment of accounts. Consideration of repairs needed to a foot bridge over the foot path leading from opposite Longwick Mill to Bledlow. Consideration of arrangements for Coronation celebrations. Present:- Messrs Wm A. Walker (Chairman) H. S. Pope. W. J. Harper. H. Rogers, A. J. Goodchild, F. Williams and Robert Bailey (Clerk).

Electricity supply to Bungalows at Meadle The Deputy Borough Electrical Engineer wrote regarding charges for electricity supply to Bungalows at Meadle, stating he had no knowledge of quoting the owners for a supply, neither had his Department had applications from them. He would be glad to have the Clerks comments. It was agreed that the Clerk communicate with Messrs Rutland & Keen to ascertain the position, and to reply to the Deputy Borough Electrical Engineer accordingly.

Houses for Aged persons The Clerk to the Wycombe R.D. Council wrote stating that the question of Houses for Aged persons would be submitted to the Housing Committee in due course.

Stiles at Ilmer It was reported that Mr Goodchild of Ilmer had not yet erected the stiles on his property as promised, The Clerk was instructed to write to him, asking that the matter might receive immediate attention, to avoid the Council applying to the Foot paths and Commons Preservation Society for legal assistance.

Result of Collection for National Memorial The Chairman reported that as a result of the house to house collection in the Parish, a sum of Eight Pounds, had been sent to Lloyds Bank Ltd at Wycombe,

for the National Memorial to His late Majesty King George V.

Payment of accounts Proposed by Councillor Williams seconded by Councillor Rogers that Cheques be drawn in payment of the following accounts:- Wycombe R.D. Council. Rates on Parish Cottages, half year ending March 31st 1937 £1-8-10. The Lion Company Ltd for Stationery 12/-d. Carried

Repairs to foot-bridge Longwick The question of repairs needed to a small foot bridge on the foot path leading from Longwick to Bledlow was considered. Councillor Pope proposed and Councillor Rogers seconded that Mr Joseph Redrup of Longwick be asked to carry out the necessary repairs. Carried

Parish Meeting re Coronation Proposed by Councillor Williams seconded by Councillor Rogers, that it be left in the hands of the Chairman & Clerk to arrange for a Parish Meeting to be held in the New Year, to consider what steps shall be taken to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King George VI.
