Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 29th Jun 1936.

Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom, Longwick on Monday June 29th 1936 at 8 pm. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. To issue Precept upon the Rating Authority for General Expenses of the Council. Payment of accounts. To consider dangerous corners at Bar Lane, Longwick and Ilmer turn. Present:- Councillors Wm A. Walker (Chairman) W. J. Harper, Henry Rogers, H. S. Pope, Fred Williams and Mr Robert Bailey (Clerk)

Minutes Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.

Stiles Ilmer A letter was received from Mr. Goodchild of Ilmer stating he was erecting the stiles in his fences as requested by the Parish Council.

Council Houses Arising out of the Minutes of the previous meeting, the question of Council Houses for Longwick was further discussed. Councillor Harper proposed and Councillor Pope seconded that the Clerk write to the Housing Committee of the R.D. Council pressing for Council Houses to be proceeded with, on the land adjoining the present Council Houses in Longwick. Carried

Precept for General Expenses Proposed by Councillor H. S. Pope seconded by Councillor H. Rogers that a Precept for £10 (Ten pounds) be issued upon the Rating Authority for General Expenses of the Parish Council to become payable on December 31st 1936. Carried

Payment of accounts Proposed by Councillor Williams seconded by Councillor Rogers that Cheques be drawn in payment of the following accounts: Messrs Shaw & Sons Ltd. Notices of

Meetings etc 9/-d. Wycombe R.D. Council, Rates on Parish Cottages, half year ending Sept. 30th 1936 £1/8/10. Robert Bailey One Quarters Salary as Clerk to June 24th 1936 £1/5/-. Audit Stamp 1935/6 5/-d. Rupert East. Premium on Employers Liability Insurance 10/-d. Carried

Financial Statement The Financial Statement of Accounts as certified by the District Auditor for the year ending March 31st 1936 was laid before the meeting.

Parish balances Bucks Review Order 1934 Proposed by Councillor Harper seconded by Councillor Rogers that this Council does not consider it necessary to make any claim for adjustment of any Parish balances remaining in the hands of the Princes Risborough Parish Council at March 31st 1934 on the formation of the new Parish of Longwick-cum-Ilmer brought into operation by the Bucks Review Order 1934. Carried

Dangerous Corners. Bar Lane & Ilmer Turn The Clerk was asked to call the attention of the Bucks County Divisional Highways Surveyor, to the dangerous corners at Bar Lane, Longwick, and Ilmer Turn. The Chairman reported re a meeting held at Aylesbury on Air Raid precautions. Oct 19th 1936 Wm A Walker
