Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 27th Apr 1936.
The Annual Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council was held in the Schoolroom, Longwick on Monday April 27th 1936 at 8 pm. To appoint a Chairman and Vice-Chairman for the ensuing year. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. To appoint two representatives to serve on the Valuation Committee of the Wycombe R.D. Council for the ensuing year. Payment of account. Present:- Councillor W. A. Walker (Chairman) H. S. Pope. H. Rogers. A. J. Goodchild, W. J. Harper. E. J. Girling. F. Williams and Mr Robert Bailey (Clerk)
Chairman Proposed by Councillor Harper, seconded by Councillor Girling that Councillor Wm A. Walker be re-appointed Chairman for the ensuing year. Carried unan.
Vice-Chairman Proposed by Councillor Rogers seconded by Councillor Goodchild that Councillor H. S. Pope be re-appointed Vice-Chairman for the ensuing year. Carried
Minutes Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.
Representatives on Valuation Committee Proposed by Councillor Pope seconded by Councillor Harper, that Councillors Henry Rogers and Albert James Goodchild be appointed representatives to serve on the
Rating Valuation Committee of the Wycombe Rural District Council for the ensuing year. Carried
Payment of Account Proposed by Councillor Pope seconded by Councillor Girling, that a Cheque be drawn in payment of Mr Joseph Redrup's account for repairs to foot path at Longwick 7/-d and repairs to foot bridge at Owlswick 4/-d Total Cheque 11/-d. Carried
Stiles at Ilmer The Clerk was asked to communicate again with Mr Douglas Goodchild of Ilmer respecting his promise to insert stiles in the Fences on his property at Ilmer.
Site for Council Houses The Chairman reported as to the position regarding a suitable site for the erection of Council Houses at Longwick, stating he had suggested a site adjoining the Council Houses already erected in Longwick, but the Architect of the Wycombe R.D. Council was not at the moment entirely in agreement as to the suitability of the site. The Council agreed that Mr. J. Rogers of Longwick be interviewed to ascertain if he would be prepared to dispose of a portion of his land, for the erection of Council Houses, if it was thought suitable. July 29th 1936 Wm A Walker
