Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom, Longwick on Monday March 25th 1935 at 7.30 pm. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. Correspondence. To consider the obstruction of a foot path at Horsenden. To consider repairs needed to Foot bridge at Ilmer. Payment of Accounts. Present:- Councillors Wm A. Walker (Chairman) Fred Williams, Edward J. Girling. Albert Jas Goodchild, William Joseph Harper, Henry Rogers. Herbert Sidney Pope, & Robert Bailey (Clerk)
Declaration of acceptance of Office Declaration of acceptance of Office as a Councillor signed by Edward J. Girling.
Minutes Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.
Bus Service A letter was received from the East Midland Traffic Area stating that as a result of a typographical error the normal week day service for Bus Service for Longwick was shown as "Monday to Friday" instead of Monday to Saturday, in the Notices of Proceedings No 204. The necessary amendment would be published in the notification to grant the application for the Service to run.
Overhanging tree Ilmer The Divisional Surveyor replied re overhanging tree on the Ilmer Road that he had written to the responsible owner.
Obstruction of foot path Horsenden A letter was received from Mr L. E. A. Jaques, re the erection of a Field Gate across a public foot path at Horsenden, in lieu of a Kissing Gate and asking the Council to communicate with the owner of the land on the matter. Proposed by Councillor Harper seconded by Councillor Williams that the Chairman & Councillor Pope make an inspection and report to the next meeting.
Repairs to Foot bridge Ilmer The question of repairs needed to a foot bridge at Ilmer was discussed. Councillor A. J. Goodchild proposed and Councillor H. Rogers seconded that Mr Harry. H. Gomme of Cold Harbour, Ilmer, be asked to quote a price for the repair of same. Carried
Payment of accounts Proposed by Councillor A. J. Goodchild, seconded by Councillor H. S. Pope that Cheques be drawn in payment of the following accounts:- Wycombe R.D. Council. Map of the Parish 12/-. Cheverton & Laidler Printing Notices of Parish Meeting 6/6. Robert Bailey One Quarters Salary as Clerk to 25/3/35 £1-5-0. Postages (one year) 7/11d. also that a donation of 10/-d be made to the Longwick School for use of Schoolroom for meetings of the Council. Carried
C.P.R.E. Warden A letter was received from the C.P.R.E re appointment of a Warden to preserve the amenities of the country side, but no action was taken in the matter.
