Vestry Meeting Minutes

The Combined Vestry and Parochial Church Meeting was held in the Parish Room, Ilmer, on the 15th of April, 1936, at 7, p.m. There were present - the Rev. W. O'Connor, Vicar, in the Chair, Mr. W.J. Harper, churchwarden, Mrs. Pursell, Mrs. Kingham, and Mrs. Harper.

After prayers, the Minutes of the Meeting held on the 24th of April, 1935, were read, confirmed and signed. It was reported that it had not been possible to ascertain how much is paid for the new stained-glass window separately as Insurance premium. Also that the repairs to the roof of the church had cost £4-13-6 (a guinea to the architect, and £3-12-6 to the builder).

The Vicar nominated Mrs. W.T. White, of Ilmer House, as Vicar's Churchwarden: Mr. W.J. Harper was unanimously re-elected as People's Churchwarden. Mr. W.J. Harper was unanimously re-appointed clerk and sexton.

The statement of accounts for the year 1935 was presented by Mr. W.J. Harper and passed. Church collections for parochial purposes were £9-7-4; the balance from 1934 was £7-15-8: these items with two smaller ones brought the total receipts to £21-0-9. On the expenditure side, salaries accounted for £8: electric light for church, £1-5-0, and for Hall, 17/-: coal and coke, £2-6-6: church roof £4-13-6: sundry smaller items brought the expenditure up to £20-3-5, leaving a balance to credit of 17s. 4d.

The list of Charities adopted last year was again approved, with the addition of the Diocesan Church Extension Fund and (on the evening of Harvest Festival) the Royal Bucks Hospital. A vote of thanks was passed to all who have helped during the year, especially in decorating the church and keeping it in a seemly condition for public worship.

The meeting was closed with prayer.
