Vestry Meeting Minutes

A meeting of the Parochial Church Council was held in the Parish Hall after Evening Service on Sunday May 12th at 8 p.m. There were present the vicar in the chair, Mr S.G. Boswell, churchwarden, Mr John Claydon & Mr Wm Kingham.

The minutes of last meeting were read & approved. The churchwardens accounts were presented and passed. They showed a satisfying balance of £1.13.11 as against a deficit of £2 in the past year. The vicar presented vouchers for special collections. He stated that in the united Parish all quotas had been slightly exceeded, as per statement in the Feb. No. of the magazine. The vicar also stated that the Charity Commissioners had passed the accounts for the two Parish charities. Rapers Charity showed a balance of £21.0.9 and Ilmer Close Fund a balance also to the good of £2.7.9.

The vicar expressed the extreme regret of the Council at the impending departure from Horsenden of Mr S.G. Boswell and their great appreciation of the services he had rendered. Mr Boswell briefly replied.

The appointment of Mr Wm Harper as Parish Clerk & Church officer was confirmed.
