Parish Meeting Minutes - 2 Apr 1971

Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Meeting on 2nd Apr 1971.

ANNUAL PARISH MEETING HELD IN LONGWICK VILLAGE HALL ON FRI APRIL 2ND 1971. AT 7.30 P.M.

Present Cllrs Brock, Tapping, Underwood, Thomas. Absent Apologies Cllrs Angus, Walker, & Gomme. Minutes Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Playing Field The topic of this meeting was to form a Management Committee to be responsible for spending money on the Playing Field. It was decided the committee should be made of a member from each of the following bodies, The Parish Council, Sports Club, Evening W.I., Village Hall Committee, and the Sixties Club, together with the Headmaster of Longwick School, also some parents from the village to be co-opted on by other members of the committee. The fund raising committee was to remain, and a proposal by Cllr Thomas seconded by Mr Jones that Mrs Huntley be authorised to pay any bills was carried. Mrs Huntley made a proposal as the Parish Council own the Playing Field they should take out an Insurance Cover for Public Liability. This proposal was unanimously carried. Mrs Huntley informed the meeting that £1,858 had been raised, after paying £1,075 out for purchase of the Playing Field, Balance in hand was £780.
