Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Meeting on 5th Mar 1934.

PARISH MEETING ELECTION OF COUNCILLORS 1934 A Parish Meeting for the election of seven Parish Councillors for the newly constituted Parish of Longwick-cum-Ilmer, was held in the Village Hall, Longwick, on Monday March 5th 1934 at 6.15 pm. when about sixteen Local Government Electors were present.

Chairman Mr William. A. Walker, who had been appointed by the Bucks County Council to act as Chairman for the meeting asked for Nomination Papers to be handed in, and as he was found to have been nominated, he vacated the Chair, and on the proposition of Mr W. J. Harper, seconded by Mr. Albert. J. Goodchild, Mr Ebenezer Goodchild was elected to the Chair.

Nominations After the statutory fifteen minutes allowed for handing in Nominations had elapsed, the statement as to the validly nominated Candidates together with their names in alphabetical order was made to the meeting and an opportunity afforded for putting questions to the Candidates.

Submitting of Candidates names to the meeting Voting The names of the Candidates were then put to the meeting separately, in alphabetical order, the show of hands in favour of each Candidate being as follows:- Goodchild, Albert. 14. Gomme, George 5. Harper, William Joseph 13. Pope, Herbert Sydney 11 Rogers, Harry 12 Tubb, Albert 11. Turner, Arthur 0 Walker, William Arthur 14 Williams, Fred 13.

Chairman's Declaration as to Candidates elected The Chairman then declared the following Candidates to be duly elected subject to a Poll being demanded and having to be taken:- Goodchild, Albert. Walker, William Arthur Harper, William Joseph Williams, Fred Rogers, Henry Pope, Herbert Sydney Tubb, Albert.

No Poll No Poll being demanded and the statutory ten minutes

Vote of thanks allowed having elapsed, Mr William Joseph Harper, proposed and Mr Albert Goodchild, seconded, that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to the Chairman for his services and also to Mr. Robert Bailey (Clerk of the Princes Risborough Parish Council) for his assistance at the meeting.
