Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 16th Apr 1934.
Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Village Hall, Longwick on Monday April 16th 1934 at 7.30 pm. To sign Declaration of acceptance of office. To appoint a Chairman & Vice-Chairman for the ensuing year. To appoint two Representatives to serve on the Rating Authority for Valuation purposes for the ensuing year. To appoint several members of the Council (the number to be decided) to act in conjunction with members of the Princes Risborough Parish Council for the purpose of appointing one Representative to serve on the Management of the Princes Risborough and Longwick C. of E. Schools for a term of three years. To appoint a Treasurer to the Council. To fix place of next meeting and to decide most suitable day for meetings. To consider the appointment of a Clerk to the Council, to determine the Salary, and the amount of Bond the Clerk will be required to provide. To receive any matters for placing on the agenda for next meeting. Present:- Messrs Wm A. Walker, Albert Tubb, Albert James Goodchild, William Joseph Harper, Henry Rogers, Herbert Sydney Pope, Fred Williams & Robert Bailey (acting Clerk)
Declarations of acceptance of Office Declarations of acceptance of office as a Parish Councillor duly signed.
Chairman Proposed by Councillor Tubb seconded by Councillor Pope that Councillor Wm A. Walker be appointed Chairman for the ensuing year. Carried
Vice-Chairman Proposed by Councillor Williams seconded by Councillor Rogers that Councillor Tubb be appointed
Vice-Chairman for the ensuing year. Carried
Representatives on Rating authority for Valuation purposes Proposed by Councillor Harper seconded by Councillor Tubb that Councillor H. Rogers be appointed a representative to serve on the Rating authority for Valuation purposes for the ensuing year. Carried
Proposed by Councillor Williams seconded by Councillor Pope that Councillor Tubb be appointed a representative to serve on the Rating authority for Valuation purposes for the ensuing year. Carried
Representatives to act with representatives from P. Risboro Parish Council for the appointment of a Manager to P.R. & L. Schools Proposed by Councillor Tubb seconded by Councillor Pope that Councillors W. J. Harper, A. J. Goodchild and Wm A. Walker be appointed to act in conjunction with the Princes Risborough Parish Council representatives for the appointment of a Manager to the Princes Risborough & Longwick C of E. Schools. Carried
Nomination as a Manager It was agreed that Mr. F. Williams should be nominated for the consideration of the joint meeting of representatives as a Manager for Princes Risborough and Longwick C. of E. Schools.
Treasurer to Parish Council Proposed by Councillor Williams seconded by Councillor Tubb, that Mr Bernard Freedurck, Manager of Lloyds Bank Ltd, Princes Risborough be appointed to act as Treasurer to the Parish Council of Longwick-cum-Ilmer. Carried
Day Time & place of future meetings Proposed by Councillor Harper seconded by Councillor Goodchild that the meetings of the Parish Council be held at Longwick C. of E. School on Mondays, at 7 pm in the Winter and 8 pm during Summer time. Carried
Appointment of Clerk to Council Proposed by Councillor Pope seconded by Councillor Williams, that Mr Robert Bailey of Vine House, Church Street, Princes Risborough be appointed as Clerk to the Council, to hold office during the pleasure of the Parish Council, and to perform all duties appertaining to the Office at a Salary of Five pounds, per annum payable in Quarterly Instalments of £1-5-0 each on the usual Quarter days. Carried
Bond Proposed by Councillor Williams seconded by Councillor Goodchild that the Clerk provide a Bond in the sum of £50. as security. Carried
Agenda next meeting The Clerk was asked to place on the agenda for next meeting, the provision of a Shelter at Ilmer Railway Halt, and the provision of a Railway Halt for Longwick. July 9th 1934 Wm A Walker
