Ilmer Parish Meeting Minutes

On Wednesday March 18th a Parish Meeting was held in the parish room at 6.30 p.m. There were present Messrs T. Goodchild, F. Kingham, Small, W. Kingham, A Hill Geo. Gomme, Geo Kingham, D. Cook and Rev J E Varley (Chairman).

On the proposition of Mr T Belgrove seconded by Mr. Kingham the Rev J E Varley was re-appointed Chairman.

On the proposal of Mr T Goodchild seconded by Mr. A. Hill, Messrs Fitzwilliam Kingham & Mr Cook were appointed Overseers.

On the proposition of Mr Belgrove seconded by Mr. Hill Messrs Gomme & Goodchild were appointed Constables.

Mr. Geo. Gomme proposed and Mr. Thos Goodchild seconded that the parish cottage should not be sold, that the expenses of repairs should not exceed amount received for rent in any year and that the work of repairing should not be done by any one but a practical builder or workman.

Mr. Kingham proposed and Mr. Hill seconded that the letting of the cottages be left in the hands of the overseers Carried Nem: Con:
