Vestry Meeting Minutes

A meeting of the Parochial Church Council was held in the School Parish Hall on Thurs. Ap. 8 at 6 p.m. There were present the vicar in the chair, Mr S.G. Boswell & Mr Fritz Kingham churchwardens, Mr Albert Goodchild, Mr Fritz Kingham & Mr Wm Kingham.

Mr Sydney G. Boswell was unanimously appointed Clerk to the Council. The vicar reported that at the Horsenden meeting Mr Jaques & Miss Gambell & Mr Boswell had been appointed representative to the R.D. Conference for the combined Parish. Mr Boswell represented in the R.D. Board of Missions.

The churchwardens presented their accounts which showed a balance in hand of 9/3. The vicar produced the vouchers for collections for special objects. The accounts of the two Parish funds were reported as having been passed by the Charity Commissioners.

A discussion followed as to the heating of the church which was considered inadequate. A new stove was suggested. The vicar reported money in hand £5 from proceeds of a Sale of Jumble. A balance in hand from Ilmer Close Fund, & he thought if more was required the Piano Fund in Lloyds Bank Princes Risborough might be borrowed for the purpose. He was authorised to do so should it be necessary. The vicar & Mr Boswell were authorised to make enquiries as to the cost of a stove.

This was all the business.
