LONGWICK. CUM. ILMER PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD LONGWICK VILLAGE HALL MONDAY 17TH AUGUST 1964 at 7.30 p.m.

Present. Cllr Leuw, Gomme, Harper, Walker, & Mrs Brock. Absent. Apologies for absence from Miss Wootton. Mins Minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

Matters Arising A letter from the county surveyor stating he would look into points about the Mill stream bridge on the B4009 Road, also for the speed limit signs on Thame Rd. was read by the clerk.

Public Footpaths The chairman informed the meeting of more complaints about Mr Macintosh ploughing up footpaths (number 3 from the Mill at Longwick across to Bledlow in particular) This footpath is widely used and despite two previous notices the farmer continues to plough it up. The clerk was informed to write to the County Surveyor this time.

Bus Service No 80. The Wycombe R.D.C. has received from the Thames Valley Bus company a letter saying that owing to a financial loss on the route through Longwick it was withdrawing some buses for a months trial and if the service did not improve was considering surrendering the license altogether. A letter of protest to the clerk of Wycombe R.D.C. was asked for by Cllr Walker.

Potholes on Owlswick Rd And Tall grass on Ilmer Green Cllr Tapping asked for some pot holes on the road from Chadwell hill to Owlswick to be reported to the Divisional Surveyor. Cllr Leuw asked that the surveyor be informed on the state of Ilmer green. The grass had not been cut at all this year and was now very tall together with nettles etc.

Parked lorry at Ilmer. Cllr Leuw again remarked about a lorry parked at night in a dangerous position at Ilmer a letter to the police was asked for.

Main Drainage at Meadle Before a large gathering of Meadle residents a proposal by Wycombe R.D.C. to purchase a piece of land from the council on which to build an ejector station in connection with main drainage at Meadle was put forward. After many discussions from which it was apparent that Meadle residents did not want the ejector station on the site proposed, it came to light that Mr Hazeltine the farmer, to whom the engineer from Wycombe R.D.C. had approached first of all about a site on his land, but had been refused, had now changed his mind and would consider selling his land if it would save the village pond site from being used. However this was only voiced at the meeting and Mr Hazeltine neither wrote to or attended the meeting. Cllr Walker proposed seconded Cllr Gomme that the council go no further with the sale of the site until Mr Daniels the engineer and surveyor had been informed about Mr Hazeltines change of mind.
