Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 29th Mar 1951.

Meeting of the Longwick cum Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom, Longwick on Thursday March 29th at 7 p.m. To read and confirm the minutes of the last meeting Correspondence received. Payment of Accounts. Any other business. Present Councillors W. J. Harper (Chairman). A Ancliffe D. Claydon. E. J. Girling. A. J. Goodchild, F. Williams and the Clerk.

Minutes. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Arising from the minutes, the Clerk stated that he had attended the Special Petty Session of the Peace to verify the list of Parish Constables elected at the last meeting of the Parish Council. The Chairman announced that the meeting on the boundaries of Parishes to have been held at Wycombe on March 17th had been postponed. The Chairman also announced that following the letter sent to the County Surveyor by the Clerk re the state of the footpaths in Horsenden & Longwick, he had had a meeting with the County Surveyor & they had together inspected the paths and the Surveyor had agreed that the necessary work should be undertaken.

Correspondence received The Clerk read a letter received from Mr Harris, the Secretary to the Parish Councils Association of the County, stating that the Annual Meeting of the Association

would take place at High Wycombe on Wednesday April 4th at 7.30 p.m. It was proposed Councillor D. Claydon Sec Council Goodchild and carried that the Chairman & Councillor Ancliffe should attend this meeting to represent the Council. The Clerk also read a letter from Mr Harris asking whether further telephone kiosks were required in the Parish. After some discussion it was agreed that the Clerk should write stating that as there were no kiosks either at Owlswick, Meadle or Ilmer it is desirable that they should be provided there, and that it would be a great Convenience if a further kiosk could be provided in Longwick at the southern end of the village, say outside the Sportsman's Garage.

Payment of Accounts It was proposed Councillor F. Williams seconded Councillor Ancliffe and carried that the following accounts be paid: to the Clerk £2 : 9 : 6 being one quarter's salary to 24 : 3 : 51 £2 and postages for the year 1950-51 9s. 6d; to the Correspondent Church of England Schools Longwick £ - : 10s : - , being one years rent for the School for the meetings of the Council.

Other business The Chairman announced that owing to personal and domestic reasons Mrs Walker found it imperative regretfully to resign her seat on the Rural District Council. After warm testimony on the part of all the Council of the wonderfully conscientious

way in which Mrs Walker had carried out her duties, it was proposed Councillor Ancliffe, seconded Councillor D Claydon and carried with acclamation that it be placed on record how much the Council appreciated the way in which Mrs Walker had carried out her duties on the R.D.C. on behalf of the Parish.
