Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 25th May 1950.

Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom, Longwick on Thursday May 25th 1950 at 8 p.m. To read and confirm the minutes of the last meeting. Replies to Correspondence. Election of Chairman & Vice-Chairman. Correspondence received. Any other business. Present Councillors W J Harper, D. Claydon, A. Goodchild, Mrs D. M. Walker, F. Williams, A. Ancliffe and the Clerk.

Minutes The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

Election of Chairman & Vice-chairman The Chairman vacated the chair, and the Clerk asked for nominations for the post of Chairman. It was proposed Councillor Ancliffe and seconded Councillor Goodchild that Councillor W. J. Harper be re-elected Chairman: this was carried unanimously and Councillor Harper returned to the chair. The Chairman then called for nominations for Vice-Chairman and it was proposed Councillor Mrs Walker and seconded Councillor E. J. Girling that Councillor Goodchild be elected Vice-Chairman: this was carried unanimously.

Letter from Thames Valley Traction Co Ltd The Clerk read a letter from the Thames Valley Traction Co. Ltd. suggesting a meeting between the Chairman, the Clerk, the Divisional Surveyor of the Bucks County Council, the Superintendent of the Police and a representative of the Thames Valley Traction Co. Ltd. to discuss a more convenient turning point for the buses

in the village. The letter also stated that the Company would not agree to inter availability of return tickets as between routes 30 and 80. It was proposed Councillor Mrs Walker and seconded Councillor Ancliffe that the Clerk write to the Company suggesting three alternative dates for the proposed meeting.

Letter re National Parks & Access to the Countryside Act. 1949 The Clerk read a letter from the Clerk to the Bucks County Council stating that when the Parish Council was not prepared to carry out a survey of the land in their area, the rural district Council concerned could be requested to carry it out instead. The Clerk was instructed to write and say that our Council was not in a position to carry out the survey and therefore wished the matter to be referred to the rural district Council.

Letter re County Development Plan The Clerk read a letter from the County Planning Officer asking if the Council wished to acquire any land or wished any land to be reserved, stating location, extent and purpose of said land. The Clerk was instructed to write the County Planning Officer that the Council had no wishes in this direction.

Payment of Account It was proposed Councillor F. Williams and seconded Councillor Girling that the Council should pay the Annual Subscription to the County of Buckingham Association of Parish Councils of £1 . 10 .

Other business It was proposed Councillor Girling and

seconded Councillor Mrs Walker that the Clerk write to the Rural District Surveyor re the state of the road through the village of Meadle from Mr Girlings Farm to the end of the road, which is in a very bad condition. This was carried. W. J Harper Oct 6. /50
