Minutes of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council on 8th Oct 1934.

Meeting of the Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council held in the Schoolroom, Longwick on Monday October 8th 1934 at 7 pm. To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting. Correspondence. Consideration of cleaning out Dorrells Pond Longwick. To define Public rights of Ways in the Parish on a Map of the Parish. Present:- Messrs Wm A. Walker (Chairman) W. J. Harper, H. Rogers. A. J. Goodchild. A. Tubb. F. Williams and Robert Bailey (Clerk)

Minutes Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.

Railway Halt A reply was received from the Railway Co re the Councils application for a Halt at Longwick, stating that the request had been brought to the notice of the Committee but it was regretted that a conclusion was come to, that traffic considerations were not sufficient to justify the expenditure which would be involved.

Application for Bus Service Proposed by Councillor Williams seconded by Councillor Harper that the Clerk write to the Oxford Bus Company asking them to consider the provision of a Bus Service for Longwick. Carried

Sub Post Office Longwick A letter was received from the Postmaster, Aylesbury, notifying the Council of the establishing of a Sub. Post Office

at Longwick as from the 1st of August 1934, at the premises of Mr John. T. Claydon.

Hedge at Bar Lane Longwick It was reported that with reference to the trimming of the hedge at Bar Lane Longwick, Mr Wooster had now vacated the property. The Clerk was asked to write to the owner, asking him to have the hedge trimmed.

Dorrells Pond Longwick The question of cleaning out Dorrells Pond at Longwick was considered and it was proposed by Councillor Tubb seconded by Councillor Goodchild that no action be taken in the matter. Carried

Defining of Public Rights of Way in the Parish The Public Rights of Way in the Parish were defined on a map of the Parish and it was proposed by Councillor Harper seconded by Councillor Rogers that the Map be deposited at the Clerk's Office and advertised for inspection in due course.
