Ilmer Parish Meeting Minutes

The Annual Parish Meeting was held in the Parish Room, Illmire on Thursday February 26th 1931 at 7 pm.

To appoint a Chairman for the ensuing year.
To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting.
To nominate two men to serve as Parish Constables for the ensuing year.
To pass accounts.
To consider any matters affecting the Parish Cottages.

Present:- Messrs. Albert Goodchild (Chairman) George Gomme, Geoffrey Brian Quint and Robert Bailey (Clerk).

Chairman. Proposed by Mr George Gomme seconded by Mr. G. B. Quint that Mr Albert Goodchild be re-appointed Chairman for the ensuing year. Carried

Minutes Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.

Parish Constables It was agreed that the out-going Parish Constables be re-nominated, namely Messrs Harry Goodchild and Geoffrey Brian Quint.

Accounts. The Clerk presented the accounts of the Parish Meeting and it was proposed by Mr George Gomme seconded by Mr Geoffrey Brian Quint that the accounts as paid by the Treasurer to date be approved namely:- Wycombe R.D. Council Rates on Parish Cottages half year ending Sept 30th 1930 £1/15/4. Robert Bailey Cash payment made per Fire Insurance on Parish Cottages 15/- Audit Stamp 1929/30 5/- Wycombe R.D Council Rates on Parish Cottages half year ending March 31st 1931 £1/11/4. Commissioners of Inland Revenue Sch A Tax on Parish Cottages 1930/31 £1/3/7, and that the Treasurer be authorised to pay any outstanding accounts as soon as the March Rents have been received. Carried

Parish Cottages. The Clerk reported that he had not yet received any definite reply from the Wycombe R.D Council re a grant towards repairs of Parish Cottages. It was agreed that he should write again giving full particulars of rents, the financial position of the Tenants and repairs needed. Failing any satisfactory reply, the Chairman be authorised to have the Cottages made water-tight at as reasonable a price as possible and that a Precept be issued upon the Rating Authority to cover expenses incurred, at a later meeting.

Roadway to Cold Harbour. Iron pipe required under roadway The Clerk was asked to write to Messrs Burrows and Bradfield of Thame asking if they would take the necessary steps to have an iron pipe inserted under the road way leading to Cold Harbour Farm at Middle Burnway and the road re-metalled over the pipe.
