1607 Terrier

A terrier of the glebe lands and other possessions of St Peter's Church, Ilmer, dated 25 October 1607.

Ilmer in the Deanary of Waddesdon in the County of Bucks upon the 25. day of October 1607. & in the yeare of the Reigne of our Gracious Soveraigne Lord James by the Grace of God King of England ffrance & Ireland the 5th & of Scotland the One & fourtieth.

A Survey or Terrier of all the Possessions belonging to the Vicaridge of Ilmer made & taken by the view ~ perambulation & Estimat of the Minister Church = =Wardens & other Inhabitants there whose Names are subscribed, being thereunto nominated & appointed by William ffolkingham Gentleman, General Surveyour of Church Glebe & Possessions within the Diocess of Lincoln by virtue of a Commission decreed by the Reverend ffather in God William Lord Bishop of Lincoln in Execution of the Canon in that behalf established.

Imprimis The Home stall or scite of the Vicaridge, scituate on the East part of the Church consisting of 4. Bayes built all with wood & covered with Tyles. Two Bayes ~ thereof being chambered & boarded, disposed into foure Roomes (viz) A Hall, a Kitchin, a Parlour & a low Chamber

A Little Close next the street. The Close called the Vicars Woodyard. One stable. A little Close with an Apple Tree in it, joyning to the Vicaridge House. All these containing by Estimation One half Acre.

Item of Meadow Pasture & Arable Twenty Acres of Glebe Lands. whereof One Acre is of Sum Leas, the other of Meadow ground.

The other Eighteen Acres are of Arable Lands lying in the ffeilds of Ilmer aforesaid which are well known to the Parishioners as diverse of the same Parish which have had lawfull occupation since the vicar that now is bin instituted there can witness. (viz)

Item there belongs unto the said Vicaridge all Tythes whatsoever (except Tythe Corne) viz. Tythe Hay, Wooll & Lamb, Calf, Milk & of all whatsoever doth grow out of the Garden or Orch-yard, with Eggs, Piggs, Geese, Hemp and Honey
